On the tour around the world (Kosice-Sturovo-Bratislava-Barcelona-Edinburgh-Bratislava-Kosice) we were lucky that my dear Sis managed to squeeze Edinburgh in a busy schedule :).
Our dear visitors safely landed and we started our tour visiting various parts of Scotland and exploring the world of whisky!
Travel tip: There are good connections between home (Slovakia, Czech Republic) and Scottish cities. Ryanair operates flights from Bratislava do Edinburgh 2 times a week with the prices starting at 40€ one way (no flights in winter). Two companies (Easyjet and Jet2) are flying from Prague on nearly daily basis with rates from 30€ one way. Good connections are also with Krakow or Budapest. Take advantage of offers from low cost airlines and plan interesting round-trips as our brave travellers did. For example SK/CZ – Spain (Barcelona, Malaga..) and UK (Edinburgh, London..).
After a short introduction to Edinburgh we headed north to Aviemore – the centre of Cairgorm National Park in the heart of Scottish Highlands. Next we visited St Andrews, spent a few days in Edinburgh and went up north to Pitlochry to visit two distilleries.
Amazing time indeed.
To be continued..
