Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland with about 600,000 inhabitants. However, its urban area has about 1,200,000. Glasgow is not as historical and picturesque city as Edinburgh, but it is very open-minded, cultural and has many faces. It’s also known to be the best Scottish shopping hub and has 3 universities.
We’ve dedicated a whole day to this vivid city and have managed to explore:
- famous visionary architect Rennie Mackintosh and the fantastic space of The lighthouse gallery
- Glasgow Cathedral and the whole surrounding area of the Necropolis (Victorian garden cemetery)
- Shopping area and all its cool shops and ateliers
- A proper drum of whisky at the Wee Drum bar celebrating our dear friend’s birthday
But still not quite all what Glasgow has to offer, so we need to come back soon!
